no deadlines when it comes to our handy-dandy booqclub. we do what we do hoping that it gets done sooner than later -we work in mysterious ways. i'd dare say our next meeting should happen within a month or so. we shall see... a few of us are done with HEAT and are devouring THE BELLY already; and a few of us are just getting started. i don't know if that helps...
well i've officially decided to pledge your booqclub, as i've gots me the the books now. i never properly introduced myself though. i live in laurel canyon. i go to school at evergreen in olympia, wa. and i'm back for the summer and looking for a book club. but you should know i read the book pledged some years ago so you won't be able to fool me with any illegal greek tricks.
Ok - I'll head to Skylight and pick-up the books. The whole indentured servitude sounds interesting :)
I'm not sure if my reading list should be made-up of books I've read and loved or ones I'd like to read, so I've included a bit of both:
foundandlost's booklist: The Piano Teacher, Elfriede Jelinek A Fine Balance, Rohinton Mistry Midnight's Children, Salman Rushdie Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, Dai Si Jie Venus in Furs, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch The Bone People, Keri Hulme A Room of One's Own, Virginia Woolf Jazz, Toni Morrison Alias Grace, Margaret Atwood Mapping Home, Randa Jarrar Desert of the Heart, Jane Rule The God of Small Things, Arundhati Roy Don Quijote, Miguel de Cervantes
I hope to join you in your discussion of The Belly of Paris!

Hi - I am interested in joining the club - love the book list that's on Skylight Books' website. How do I become a member?
we have a membership trial period for new members (something akin to indentured servitude; and if we like you we get to keep you!)
read what we're reading (HEAT & THE BELLY OF PARIS), send us a reading list, and stayed tuned for instructions here at the BQCB blog.
dear understandably selective friends: when are your books to be read by?
