I just finished up The Corrections, as recommended by the Baroness, and it was fucking good.

I'm currently also reading some Neal Stephenson, his new one, Anathem. Judging by the size I'm going to be reading it for the rest of my life.

wasn't it tho? i fucking loved it. right time, right book.

do let me know if anathem is worth its weight and the strain on your wrists. may you have a long life, perro F!

Will do. I'm enjoying it so far, but I don't really have the time to dedicate to it to really get into it.

Also, I picked it up at this weird estate sale junk shop down the street from my house for a dollar! Book deal of the century!

$1 books are the bestest. i've found some super cheap treasures at the neighborhood thrift store in little ethiopia:

- a beautiful vintage edition of plutarch's lives (3 volumes! 1912 edition)
- colette's complete stories
- emerson's complete writings (1929 ed.)
- zola's nana (1933 illustrated edition - with illustrations in silhouette!)
- anger's hollywood babylon
- lautreamont's maldoror
- newman's a child history of america
- franzen's the corrections
- cervantes' don quijote de la mancha
- djuna barnes' selected works
- cowley's exhile return: a literary odissey of the 1920's (1951 ed.)
- asbury's the french quarter: an informal history of the new orleans underworld (1936 ed.)

and the list goes on... what a book whore. a cheap book whore.
